Look what I found this morning! (Highland Pony)

I was sent to check the fields this morning, we've got ponies all over the place! I checked the young/retired pony field first, all where fine. Went to our other farm where the stallions and mares are kept and discovered I was missing a mare!!!

Couldn't find her anywhere in the field, then I nnoticed the fence between the pony field and the hay field was broken! Went to investigate the hay field.

I finally found Marina and with her was this.....


Our first Highland foal of the year, a gorgeous little filly!! We initially thought Marina was due at the end of June, so was surprised that she foaled last night! After looking back through the dates of when Marina was put back with the stallion last year, it's about right and she foaled 5ish days early! Harris the stallion wasted no time in doing the deed!!!

Will keep you updated with this little ladies progress and also as and when our three other mares have foaled!

Unnamed yet! The boss will name them eventually, but I like Olive, so we are going to plant the seed in the bosses mind and hope it grows and she agrees!

It was a stunning sight, them both stood looking at me, in the lush grass, that she wasn't supposed to be on!! Very picturesque!!

I'm just dead chuffed I was the first person to ever lay eyes on her! It's the first time I've been the one to discover a foal!!

Fingers crossed we can plant the Olive seed! We've only got one pony beginning with 'o' and he's called Oyster, so I thought Olive would be good for the sweet little filly!
