Help he's chewing my walls.

Every night we put my lab pup in the kitchen and restrict him to just that but he's now chewed to great big holes right down to brick.!he goes on a wall every day. I just don't know how to discourage this behaviours as I would have thought it was boredom but it's whilst we all sleep?! Help please?!

Have you tried giving him something before you go to bed to keep him occupied eg a nice meaty marrow bone, a stuffed kong, or kong wobbler?

Our first pup did this when we lived in a timber framed house and the walls were like cardboard.

Is your pup teething?

I would recommend you get a crate for your pup to keep him safe as he may start on electric cables next.

He's about 10 months old now so I dunno if a crate would be too late. We put him in the kitchen with a stair gate. I was silly enough to think that he'd actually sleep whilst we did

It's never too late to crate train, the way he's going you'll have no kitchen left. I'd buy a large crate complete with cover and set about getting him used to it asap.

I have dogs sleeping where I can keep an eye on them and intervene if necessary. So they have beds in my room.
Does he do this when you go out as well? The reason I ask is that if it is Separation Anxiety, crating will not help.

Has he always done it or has it just started?

The reason I ask is that dog go through another chewy stage at about this age whilst their teeth are bedding in.

If you make it his bed and encourage him in with treets, do as Smokey has suggested and give him something to chew this should keep him occupied.

Crates are a life saver!

I don't know how id ever cope without a crate now they are such handy things to have especially if your dogs having teething problems.

I didn't get a crate for about 4 months then found a cheap large one on E Bay and its been one of the best things ive ever bought ever since.Millie accepted it immediately after I put her bed in their.

He's always been quite destructive tbh. He's had our doorknobs in kitchen twice now
