James Wellbeloved in on special offer at the moment at Pets At Home. 3 for the price of two. The bags are normally about £7 so you can get 3 bags for £14, not bad.

Mine all have James W wet and dry food. Royal Canin brought one of my girls out in hives, a terrible state but she's fine back on JW.

Sorry, can't be more help, don't know about other brands.

Hello Paula,
We seem to be having the same problem as you. Our two year old golden retriever had a very sore ear and sore pathes on his feet and belly. The vet gave him antibiotics and steriods which he has been off for about eight days. But the problem has now returned and we had to go back to the vet and get more antibiotics which were extremely expensive, the bill for a 10 minute visit coming to £84. We are trying a different food and the vet is going to put us in touch with a skin specialist in Leeds. It's interesting to talk to someone with a similar problem. We were advised today to buy a natural dog food so we have bought large bag of Burns, Lamb and Brown Rice. Best Wishes John

as your dog also been given antibiotics and a shampoo such as Malaseb to get rid of fungal and bacterial skin infection. I would also advocate having allergy testing done, Skinners Duck and Rice is a good food for dogs with adverse reactions/allergies to food it is <£20 for 15kg.

Have an allergy test done, guessing will not help (been there), Amy turned out to be allergic to rice, which is in most dry foods, until you know exactly what the allergy is you may be wasting money buying food that is not suitable.

The tests are not cheap but if you are insured you should be covered.

Good luck, I hope you find out what it is.

Agree with Vodka Vixen-my girl has allergies-food, house dustmites, storage mites and 4 of the commonest weeds that grow all over the place. These were confirmed by her having an allergy test. Have sorted her food out-Wafcol Salmon & Potato (she's allergic to all meats) and she has an Immunotherapy Vaccination every month (definitely helps) and Piriton. The allergy testing is not cheap but if you have Insurance they should cover it as Vodka Vixen says -good luck-hope you get sorted soon
