Wheres the balance?

A Cocker Spaniel who came in for biting around his beds been in a week, had intrest twice, will be leaving ASAP as paperworks done, when there are many Staffs, and heck even other breeds or mongrels who have never raised a lip who have been in months, or even a lot longer then that, where's balance? I mean yeah its good that a dogs got a home, but I just find it sad when a cute dog gets picked over a more 'plain' dog when the latter has less issues, but I suppose thats the way the world works.

Is that not how most of us are attracted to particular breeds to begin with?

I agree. And that's how a lot of PEOPLE are attracted to their future partners to begin with too. That's life.

Looks yeah, but taking on a known biter over a dog that that looks different to what you prefer doesn't make sense to me.

I opted for a breed that is quite know for biting - mini pinscher - and known for barking too. The TYRANTS of the toy dog world!

I worked with her tirelessly for the first year. She is a wonderful dog now.

My response to my vet telling me that the breed was very headstrong and only does what it wants, eat what it wants and so on was 'That's OK I am like that too - it will be the BATTLE OF THE TYRANTS in our place until we sort it out!'

Greetings from the House of Hormones!

Good on these people for taking on a dog with issues I say!

If they had chosen another dog just because it was morally the right thing to do (in your opinion), it's highly likely IMO that the home would fail. You can't force people to take a dog they don't want!

Are you 100% sure that's why they've chosen the cocker? Maybe they have spaniel experience and are confident they can manage the barking. Some experienced dog owners deliberately choose dogs with issues to avoid them being returned multiple times and to give them a fresh start.
