Hi Jeanette.... poor puppy, its awful when they get sick... You need to keep her away from other dogs although the incubation period is probably over allready.... Treat her like she has the flu.... lots of fluids... keep her warm.. non alcoholic cough mixture is good too.. but my favourite is Apple Cider Vinegar in Honey.... this will help soothe her throat and also work towards helping her overcome the virus... KK is a virus and just has to run its course.... dont let her have too much exercise....

hope she recovers soon...

Its the worst feeling in the world when our dogs get sick, they cant say whats wrong, and some how one just feels useless.
My dogs are my whole life, this is why dogweb is so great we all have a huge passion for our dogs.

Hey guys.

Thanks Donna, I'll keep that in mind, for when I go shopping

Yeah Gem, I get so worried when Luna isnt feeling herself.

Karen, that's how Luna is. She's "just" coughing now and then. Especially if she gets excited or wants to bark.

But other than that she's her old fine self.

Not keeping still for a second when outside. Running around like a mad dog

I do keep her away from other dogs.... She'll be playing with Bella though as I've babysat Bella, when I discovered Luna coughing, so I think Bella's immune to it...

Have just been out visiting my mum, Luna loves my mum, so she's happy now

Thanks for all your responses

Poor Luna, but it sounds as though she is over the worst.

Give her lots to drink and extra cuddles!

Oh the xtra cuddles is no probs, she loves cuddles

And the water is also served, and she drinks when thirsty.

She's "only" been sick since thursday. How long will she be infectous (sp?)?

I'm not an expert but I think it's a bit like the human cold - only infectious for a few days early on, even if the coughing continues. Someone will be along to give you expert advice.
