So sorry your boy was ill Dawn, glad he pulled through.

Well I'm not showing the OH this as I know what he'll say,
'I want one'....

Having seen many hairy beasties recently that I think should be BT's I reckon he looks fab!!

As with all oldies it's their quality of life and if it means clipping rather than stripping because it's kinder to the dog then clipping wins hands down.

Oh go on!! Thanks for your comments, it is kinder with the oldies and especially with those that may have problems like Tarn pup. (Still tarn "pup" and he is coming 10!!)

I clipped out Seiko's belly when he was 8 cos the heat was too much for him..Personally if its better for the dog the dog then who cares what anyone thinks!!

he looks fabulous!!

Now if you were keeping him in a shed and breeding from him at every opportunity then we might complain..

but doing the best by your dog is commendable..

Hello, you ask how his coat will be when it grows back. It will come back thicker as the undercoat and top coat will now grow at the same rate, you will have to comb him rather than brush as the thickness will create a web close to the skin. It might be best if you invest in a Mars Coat King, which if you had used it,would probably have saved you clipping him. Once a stripping coat is clipped, you might be able to go back to stripping, but will have to wait at least a year. The other thing that you lose by clipping is the density of colour of the coat. I am sure that he feels fine as long as you do not let his coat become matted. Always groom out before you bath him. I have been a groomer for 25yrs and am a bit of a hand stripping purist!!!
