Strange lumps (Allergic reaction)

Just got back from shopping and walked in to Cassy looking like this They weren't there before I went out and are literally coming up before my eyes, she's covered in them. She hasn't been out today only in the garden and hasn't been fed, any idea what they could be?

LOOKS LIKE HIVES - any new plants etc ?

or perhaps she has been bitten by something and its a reaction - poor wee lump ( excuse the pun) - the vets will probably just give her a steriod injection so maybe a piriton tablet might sort her out

bruno has had a similar thing but was smaller lumps - just all over his head and it was an allergy to a plant in my mums garden - he got a steriod injection at the vets to take the itch out

if they have come up so soon, probably allergic reaction to something.... have you got midges down there? Have you changed her food/given her something new? Has she had a vaccination recently? Have you put frontline or antyhing that kills fleas/ticks or her recently?

Since first posting they've doubled in the amount she now has

No to everything you asked Jess, and no new plants

Will ring the vet see if they will see her today.

Looks as though they are mainly on the back & sides which could be due to brushing under some sort of shrub that she is allergic to or rolling among plants which have caused an allergic reaction. Have you used any new washing powder for bedding or carpet cleaner etc.?

Could also be bites - check for wasp nests or ant nests, but would expect the face to be involved if it is bites.

Are the lumps irritating her?

I don't like it. Yes to ring the vets, but they will only give you an anti-histamine (lowering the immune-system), which covers the problems on the surface, but doesn't tell you what is causing the aggro. Something must be...

Not changed washing powder or used any different cleaning products.

There not bothering her in the least apart from looking like she has leprosy she's fine in herself

Her heads now covered in them.

Hi Anne sorry only just seen this, do you remember this happening to Crazycockers last last year...most probably an alergic reaction, keep an eye on the mouth and tongue for signs of swelling and ring the vets. It happend to Amy when we were away on holiday..
