Yes turkey neck is fine. The only reason I don't feed turkey is because it is a rich meat and can cause 'wind'!!

My dog has alot of allergies, so I'm always wary of unusual foods

right I offered the neck to Benji but he wasnt interested in it so I called Kira through to the kitchen to see if she wanted it for her supper ,it was gone in 2 seconds she swallowed it whole a big turkey neck
Is that ok that she just swallowed it whole like that ?
It gave me a fright the way it was gone so fast and she gave a little wimper as she finnished swallowing it ,then she was fine and looking for more
Will she be able to digest it ok without it being chewed ?

Well she hasnt brought it back up anyway and seems fine
I was so worried at the time I thought it was going to get stuck somwhere ,she just hovered it up so fast in one !
she is still a pup at 5 months old but already she is bigger than Benji
Should I have cut it up a bit first ?
I thought she would chew on it a bit first not just gulp it down in 2 seconds

I may be over cautious but my dogs are 'gulpers' so I always chop up chicken/turkey necks. Having experienced a choking dog I prefer to take no chances.

By the way, some pups do need to be taught to chew properly. You can do this by hanging on to one end of the neck while your dog has a chomp at the other. Not guaranteed to cure gulping but she might realize that there is more satisfaction to be had from chewing than from swallowing whole.
