Danni that speed looks pretty good Can you do me a favour and do the test again on a weekday? say 7pm ish? or maybe earlier in the day too?

Virgin put a cap on their BB at 6pm till 12 it's really annoying!

Look forward to hearing everyone elses views too!

will try and remember to do it tommorow - away on holiday on wed so defo try and do it before that !!

we have had no connection problems etc and havent had to use their helpdesk so no iodea what that like...

Well my BT internet got turned off today as promised and the sky was straight on.

Just done a speed test for you, with BT here it was about 968 kbs...



I did both tests whilst OH was using the net too.

It does seem faster, definitely.

Hi Azz, I phoned Virgin last week complaining about their BB speed, or lack of it.
The guy asked me to dowload two large files from a gaming site, I got combined download speeds of 590kbs per second, he said that I was getting more than I pay for at that speed.
However, I've noticed since I complained the response of my BB connections have improved markedly.

What does that tell you.

Nero - your IP shows you are using cable? Their cable service is not bad - its on the BT side where they have gone crap!

I've tried complaining, it improved for a bit then went rubbish again - I'm going to changed no matter what, but have recently discovered our line in this area gets updated to the new super speed in Nov, so am going to wait and see what ISPs can offer me then. Actually I'll post a new thread up about it

Hi have just see this thread and would recommend Sky. I was with Tiscali before and was forever having problems. I did have a problem to being with but this was because my line couldn't cope with the speed. The problem was sorted out through the Tier Three section of customer complaints. I also don't have a problem logging in at peak times which I had before with Tiscali.
