Baz came off the bike this morning....

Baz hasn't used the bike all week, but as the roads were better today, he set off to work on it, hit a patch of black ice and came off.

When he called to tell me, I just fell apart – I think it was more lack of sleep than shock (I've been up all last night with squitty-bum Gingers).

Fortunately, nothing is broken, but he has hurt his right side from shoulder to calf. It’s going to be a few pretty colours, that’s for sure.

Damage to the bike isn’t too bad – indicator broken, throttle lever damaged, minimal scratches to the faring.

Of course the most important thing is that he is ok. I only managed two hours at work and then came home to hug him and catch up on sleep.

He's off now until 5/1/11, so I'm hoping he can just chill and recover.....

He's such a strong bloke, but his mortality was brought home to us both today.....

Oh no Vicki, thank goodness he's ok, albeit bruised and in some pain.

I can just imagine the scare it gave you both (((hugs))).

I hope you can relax and enjoy your Christmas break xxx

So pleased to hear that Baz is ok.

I know how you feel as my friend was in a very bad car accident a while ago. You think these things happen to other people and it really hits home when it happens to you. The bike or car can be repaired or replaced and doesn't matter. People can't

Hope Baz is feeling 100% very soon and that you both have a lovely christmas xx

Oh Vicki, that must have shaken you up to put it mildly Thank goodness it wasn't worse, but he sounds very sore and bruised poor Baz Like you say, it's a good job it IS Christmas isn't it, we'll all be able to chill out and repair ourselves over the holiday Try not to worry now, you got him back in one piece, but like you say, it comes as more than a shock when something like this happens. All the best for him, hope he doesn't hurt too much, but I expect he does
