the thing is the more you empty them the faster they fill up ............but bran in her food this will help the glands to empty when she goes to poo..........her breath will smell if she is nibbling down .....I would check with the vet that they are the right size for her body weight .......... i feed bran and spoonful of chappie now and again YES I know CHAPPIE ...cos it's very high in fibre and helps as well ...

aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh well that was completely different!!!!!!!!! He he he

Luna has a bad breath, but I think it was her food. It was based on salmon which is a pretty strong smelling fish. So have switched..She doesnt lick herself that much so dont think its the anal sacs prob for her.

But I'm pretty curious about it

sorry just add as i am half asleep !!!!!!! if she is what you call cleaning her anal sack !!!..what she is actually doing is empting them herself .... you really need to harden up her poo so the glands empty natrually....if the glands are not working properly then the vet needs to see her but i would say add plenty of bran and give no soft meat and it will sort it's self out .......even the smallest amount of liquid from the sack will make her smell ....

just bran from the supermarket.... light brown like powder stuff found with breakfast cereals..... Chappie tinned dog meat is great my vet recomemded it for glands ...if your dog is nibbling or scraping bottom on the floor then add a can in their food over say 4 days and the fibre in it hardens the poo and hey presto ......prob sorted ....I believe nature diet has a good amount of fibre in it as well but chappie is the highest

Inca, so if her poo's hard, the glands emties itself naturally?
Bran would harden her poo?
I'll try bran right away.
gotta run to the supermarket
