It's the North South divide H simple as that.

Property is even cheaper in Lincolnshire, but there should be plenty of motor engineer work, A friend has his own ME business & he's doing better than the expensive garages, always got a full work book

I'm from North Yorkshire... those properties are more South Yorkshire, not as nice, no jobs and the landscape just isn't as pretty.

I vote Scotland too!

What are your Scottish plans now that you have a little one on the way Lucie?

I like South Yorkshire better . Prices are cheaper because wages are lower and there's a lot more unemployment.

Here in Lincolnshire, jobs are even fewer and further between unless your into agriculture and wages in agriculture are terrible. Some fantastic properties with loads of land though that would seem very inexpensive if moving from darn sarf

My hubby would now quite like to live in northumbria nearer family but i don't! Either a transfer will come up in newcastle or the borders for him so i guess it's a 'what will be will be'...It's a bit of a sore subject between us tbh at the mo. He's always said he wanted to bring our kids up in Scotland as I have and what a time to change his mind and dissapoint me. He's such a mummy's boy

Thanks for the input guys, but sadly, there's nothing commercial available in Lincolnshire, but some great houses with scope, so I'll keep at it. Think I prefer Scotland though if I'm honest, and there's a lovely garage up there with a big house, although the turnover is pretty pants, it's worth looking into.

Dave has now decided he might be a porn star and just work once a month!!!!

By far the best idea.
Can I just say we don't have many of them in Devon so there could be quite an opportunity for him down here
