Diabetes insipidus

It looks like our 3 year old, German short haired pointer may be suffering from this. He has started to pee large volumes at a time and has less and less control. Initially I thought it was excitement but I took a urine sample into the vet and his urine is very dilute. The vet thinks its most likely to be DI, although he is book in on Wednesday for blood tests. Other than the peeing ( can't really tell with drinking as we have 7 dogs) he lOoks fantastic, is bright, fit and playful.

Has anybody experience in this and any tips on dealing with it, obviously if it is confirmed he will be given any treatment available but I assume we will still have accidents. I haven't been gIving him into trouble ( in case anybody wonders) but is there anything else I can do to help him- other than regular loo visits.

Tilly has undergone many tests as the vets thought she had DI. She does pee quite a lot but more as a scent marking than actually needing to go. They even had her in for 24 hours to try and measure how much she pees and drinks but so far, nothing definite has shown up. But my vet did seem to thing if it was DI, its farely easy to control. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Well, there is nothing much that you can do about it. I am so sorry. A vet can only help in this case.
