Dishwasher ideas please

Well, it's finally given up the ghost! I had to wash up today for the very first time in donkey's years It had a little blip a while back, but Dave fixed it for me, but it's been struggling ever since quite honestly.

Now, I'm looking for your recommendations please to take its place. I want semi-integrated no more than 850 x 600 so it slots in the space I've got now, I want easy peasy controls, i.e. I only ever use ONE setting even though mine has 2, and I want it to be robust enough for the motor not to go every 12 months like some of my old ones have, and robust enough to take the abuse it will get from a busy cook who likes to eat, lots!

In an ideal World, I'd really like to just replace this with another diplomat with a shiny black control panel, but no matter how hard I've searched that's not gonna happen coz mine is 5 years old now - unbelievable for a dishwasher isn't it!!!

If you have one that you're pleased with, that's never gone wrong, never refused to wash up for you, then can you please post up the name of it here! Thanks!

Is 5 years a good lifespan for a "modern" dishwasher ?

Just wondering cos my Swedish Zanussi DS10 is about 18 years old .... that's probably put the kiss of death on it now

My Bosch has been going for over fifteen years. Love Bosch - can't beat 'em, in my opinion

Indesit DG6100W

Got a mixed load setting, plates and saucepans or a plate only setting.
Had this for about a year - before that was a Philips which lasted nearly 20 years. The new Philips weren't the same size or as economical to run as the Indesit.

Our new house came with integrated fridge, freezer and dishwasher.... all Indesit and I would never get one again!

Dishwasher has had a few problems in it's 4 years, actually they were all in the first few months an we ended up with a new one. It still can be temperamental with it's little lights as to what program it's going to do for you.

I've always heard Bosch are brilliant.
