Its got to be malamutes for me (if its not I'm in trouble with this 5 sat around me lol,) although I do like the attitude of borders if I was into smaller dogs I think I might go for one.

I`ve met my doggy soulmate in one and now wouldnt be without one in my life

Although I do love Borders and if I was to have any type of terrier they would be my first choice

okay I had no idea what border terrier was so had to look it up, thankully I wasn't too numpty as they are not common in Australia it stated so it made me feel better
I have only known one Malamute (not great for this weather here but we have cold areas where they would suit well) the one I knew was bitey, unpredictable (owner was a numpty though so I don't hold it against the breed), and hair loss well I would be there for a month brushing one.
My answer is border terrier not due to a size issue but a hairy one

I'd probably never have either, its too hot in Texas for a Malamute and I just flat don't care for terriers.

But if I had to pick, Malamute. They are good natured dogs, and gorgeous besides.

Border terrier. I think you could do more with them. Mals always seem a bit aloof to me.
