Difficulty getting into position.

Poor old Mollie is finding at the moment she is having problems having a poo because she can't get into the right position. We are helping her by standing in front of her to let her lean into us (she tends to topple forward) and that is working to a degree. But wondered if there is anything else we can do to help her.

Weeing she does as she walks because that obviously is causing her some problem too.

Vet has given pain killers and anti inflammatory meds that we are hoping will kick in shortly but mean time she is having difficulty.

Poor Mollie, It's awful seeing them struggling like this.
My dog Taz who is not 14 1/2 years old sometimes wobbles a bit when cocking his leg.
Hopefully the medication will help with her problems.

We are hoping it's temporary she twisted wrong and hurt her back so hoping this will heal, horrible for her though while she is struggling. Had to happen just as we are going on holiday too although where we are going has no stairs so she will find that easier I think.

Hopefully it's only temporary but when my Boxer broke his neck many moons ago I used to hold him up to wee and poo as he couldn't really stand unaided. I just used to support him around his waist but I guess if it was long term you could use a harness with a handle to support her. Hope she recovers soon x.

Pal of mine in the UK had a harness thingy like a sling round the dog's back end that he used to assist his dog when it had big problems. His dog was the opposite - it would topple backwards and land in it. He ended up making one because none of those for sale were just right.

Quite a few places sell mobility aids for dogs. Here's an example - they sell front and rear harnesses for dogs

We have a front harness for her to help her into the car, problem with pooing is she looks at us like what on earth are you doing to me I want some privacy when we try to help LOL

Found last poop I took her to the fence and she could lean against that and with me holding her the other side she managed quite well so may have solved the problem, as long as we can find a handy fence each time !

Bit of better new, she wanted to go for a walk this morning, so I just gently took her round the block and she managed really well. Think a little movement is helping her be less stiff. So little walks when she wants I think. But she looks much happier today.
