Whole duck

Ive been given a whole duck - and I mean whole. Feathers, beak, feet, the lot

Any idea on how to feed it? Do I need to gut it? (it's been frozen for a long time). Do I need to pluck it? I'm kinda tempted to throw it at Cain whole and see what happens. I think it'll be quite enriching to let him pluck it himself! Certainly should keep him quiet for a while...if he works out that he can eat it. But is that a bad idea? I might not let him eat it all in one go, or I might let him (only meal that day) and put him on light meals for a few days after.

I'd give it to him and see what happens as all dogs are different. You can give one of mine a complete rabbit and she will eat it all for you and leave the skin and head for you in a tiny pile, the other one looks at it like you are poisoning her, however she will eat a fish whole while the other one looks at that like she is being poisoned. Neither will touch a pigs head, but will have the trotters.

Teg won't eat anything with feathers on, haven't tried H yet.

I would just give it him and see what happens. Mine have plucked birds themselves before and eaten all but the feathers.

Yeah try him with it first! Mine will pluck and eat entire birds and eat the whole lot leaving just a wee pile of feathers

Ok, I'll just throw the whole thing at him unfortunately the garden is full of rubble after knocking down the shed so he can't really eat out there right now, and I am not letting him pluck a duck in the house so it'll have to stay in the freezer a short while longer.

Oh, definitely take pics! I would love to have something whole like that to just give them... although, I say that now, but I also said that with the lamb heads I got, and I still can't look at them properly ... and I have yet to brave feeding him the pigs head I much prefer the ones I got with the skin off to the ones I have just now

I was planning on taking pics, will post them ( aren't we a weird bunch ). It won't be for a few weeks though until the garden is habitable.

Go on Lozzi, brave the pig head. They'll love it!
