Welcome to Dogsey.

What sort of advice do you need about your puppy ?

Hopefully his/her parents were both hip/elbow scored, have no cases of epilepsy in their pedigrees & eye tested within a year of the puppies being born, the Poodle had been tested clear for Sebaceous Adenitis with Hyperkeratosis, the Golden Retriever was clear of Subvalvular Aortic Stenosis. This will give your puppy a good start & chance for a healthy life.

Don't be tempted to walk your puppy too much, free running at home is fine until the vet tells you he/she is ok to put on the floor outside of your home. You can however take your puppy out & about in your arms so that he/she has plenty of experience of the outside world. Street/road/park walking should ideally be limited to 5 minutes per month in age for each walk.

Find yourself a good dog training club that does the KC Good Citizen puppy foundation scheme, to learn how to train your dog & also to let your dog socialize with other dogs in a controlled environs.
