Mum has cancer.

Since mid November my mum has been struggling with pains in her legs, she still managed to get about but it was painful, and from mid December she became housebound.
She saw the doctor a number of times, the first time she was given painkillers, the second time she was told it was varicose veins, the third time she was told to see a neurologist for suspected parkinsons and the fouth time was told it was arthritis and was to have an x-ray.

On the morning she was due to go and have the x-ray she was walking across the living room when her leg snapped. She was taken to hospital where x-ray showed she had broken her femur, she had an op to pin this and a number of scans to find out why it broke.

One of the scans showed some lesion on both of her legs, so they investigated more. When these results came through it showed they were secondery tumours(so they decided to pin the other leg to, but as of yet still wasnt sure where the primary tumour was. It was suspected to be her lung, this was later confirmed.

It is at stage 4, so uncureable. But the Christie(local cancer hospital) have said they will treat it. So we are just waiting to hear more about that. She is in good spirits and looking forward to coming home, which hopefully could be soon as her legs have healed and the cancer treatment is done as an day patient.
