Anyone for the circuit?

Anyone thinking of doing the Munster Circuit in August, downloadable schedules, entry forms and online entry is now available for Clonmel, Limerick, Kilarney and Tralee at
www.showdogsireland.com
If you need to register your dog with the Irish Kennel Club first, the form to do that is now on the IKC website www.ikc.ie

I wish I could afford it and I had something to show it's always been our ambition to do the Munster curcuit with the caravan if we can find somewhere to stop.
Maybe next year if the pups are as good as i suspect we might be campaiging them properly.

I was thinking of coming over next year, I would be interested in where would be best to stay camping versus b&b etc? What does everybody else do?

There are plenty of camp sites, some "specialise" in dog people and welcome those coming over for the circuit, and most are handy for local attractions for the "days off" between shows. One campsite has a whole section just for dog show people and there's a BBQ most nights!
B&B plenty of that too but the dog friendly ones would be probably booked year on year. Google on "go Ireland" which will bring you a site giving tourist details and B&Bs (can't remember the exact URL ) Remember that August is peak season and places like Kilarney fill up pretty quickly.
I don't know whether to go or not, depends on circumstances, but be aware that entries for the circuit shows close relatively early. For some breeds there is another show in Dublin (or nearby) on the first Saturday, eg Groups 4, 6 & 10 (Dachsies, scenthounds and sighthounds) are at Navan at the Hound show (a Crufts qualifier too), so some of you could squeeze 5 shows in the week if you count both weekends! The one at Dublin used to be utility but now we don't have it, I think it's Groups 1 &2 but I'll check and come back.

Now that would be good! I met a certain Soft Coated Weaten Terrier member last year she was lovely and it was great to put a face to the name.
I know the ferry fare's horrific but if you count it as a holiday it's less painful. Of course, a B&B means a cheaper ferry fare than if you bring a caravan.... some people bring tents but the weather here is wildly unpredictable and mainly wet!
