Kitchen, although it's the biggest room in the house and has Riley's bed in - the cat has taken to hanging out with him in there during the day now as well so he's not alone.

When I left him with run of house he would get wound up by post arriving or noise from next door's front garden where they seem to hang out a lot. If I could separate him from the front door and still let him have access to rest of the house I would probably do that.

I work from home so they very rarely get left, however when they do they have the living room downstairs, they get left with a kong and the radio, and not much else, I remove soft furnishings as I don't 100% trust Daisy not to get up to mischief, Tilly would be fine with the run of the house but Daisy would definately be norty.

If we are going out for a day, ie. when we go skiing they go to daycare, I wouldn't want to leave them for a long period of time as they aren't used to it and it wouldn't be fair.

They do ok with their room downstairs, normally when we get back they are sat waiting for us!! but the bed is warm!!

Two in the utility room and two in the study, with a dog gate keeping them in the latter. They aren't separated for any particular reason, it's just how things have evolved but I don't particularly want Jack (entire) to mount Gem (neutered) as she doesn't seem to understand she has to stop him so they will stay apart for now!

Maggie gets the kitchen and Bryn will have his crate in the dining room although we haven't actually left them home alone yet since we got him. he would go in the kitchen with Maggie but he jumps at the doors when he's left, even if he can see us he will cry and bark until he's back in the same room
