Scent of Murder (TV film)

Has anyone else seen this film? It's other title is Scent of Danger.

Without spoiling it for anyone who may want to see it, it's main plot is about a child kidnapper, but running alongside the main plot it's about a search and rescue team and how the dogs work on finding the scent, for me it was facinating to watch them working and to see how some of the training is done, the main dog is a German Shepherd called Brie, it was nice to see a film with dogs in it that isn't the usual stuff, if you know what I mean.

The only thing that puzzled me was that Brie was ment to be a girl, but was so obviously a boy all through the film, so why not just make out the dog was a boy
