Finally...our house in the country...

We decided to realise our dream and moved out to the country last August. Its everything we ever dreamed that it would be and life is soooo peaceful.

Views from the back door...

Gardens...

Poor monkey puzzle in the snow..lol!

View from front of house..

The dogs hate the woodburner! (excuse the carpet - it was ripped up a week later when the wood floor went down!)

My husband and I would love a quiet life in the country but we would need to change our jobs and dont know what else we would do for a living. Assume you have retired to the country?

Lovely photos, really enjoyed them. It looks a smashing place to live and I adore your woodburner (and dogs!). Whereabouts in Scotland are you (the landscape looks a bit East Lothian)?

I live in the wonderful Scottish countryside too ...

My house in the distance

One of our wonderful views

You really can't beat rural living

No, not retired yet - we moved 5 miles out of the town we lived in and although it's still handy for the town, it's rural living - I can get to work in 15mins.

Moobli - wow - beautiful views. We live in rural Angus now.

Oh wow - how lucky are you! What fantastic photos

Living in the sticks is a very romantic notion but I find it bloody hard work in the winter I have to say that I get fed up with chopping logs in the dark in the winter everyday, the ice and the snow but hey, come Spring and Summer its all so worth it!

Like this evening, driving over to the farm, across the moors, the sunset a brilliant and huge red just makes you feel so good

Good luck in your new home - I hope its everything you dreamt of

ETA: the monkey puzzle tree!! Worth buying any property for!!

Both properties are gorgeous and views out of this world. I live rurally too - country and sea.

Congratulations on your lovely new home

So jealous - I wanna live in a more rural area, but I think a lake and a country park basically a few steps from my front garden is OK

Love the woodburner - hate having to chop sticks (used to have a coal fire) but then again, cheaper than gas in some aspects I suppose. And Sadie used to help carry some in - she wanted to chew them mind.

Glad you have finally got what you have wanted
