The docking ban.

Well, it's official, the docking ban was given Royal Ascent on Nov 8th 2006, and becomes law on April 6th 2007.

I don't have a docked breed so it won't affect me personally. What do people with docked breeds feel about this? Is it a blanket ban or will working gundogs be exempt?

How will it affect the show world, are docked breeds still going to be allowed to show if they were docked before the ban?

Personally I would like to have been left with the choice, of whether to dock or not. In the past breeders had choice, if they were anti-docking, they could leave the tails natural. Now we are all forced to do the same thing.

So it is legal to dock before 5 days old if the dog can be proven to be a working dog....fair enough....what happens with duel purpose dogs which are shown and worked...would it still be illegel to show or is that #7 in section 6?
