Georgieboy's home but not how I wanted him:(

He now has pride of place up on the mantle, and the first thing I did when she handed me his beautiful box, was to give it a great big hug.

So final isn't it now Brought a few more tears as I got back in the car I can tell ya, but now he's home again, it has brought me a strange feeling of comfort that he's back where he belongs, be it not how I wanted it to be, but here's here with us now and will always be with us even if I end up scattering the ashes somewhere extra special, he will always hold that place in my heart.

Thanks for getting me through some of it, long way to go yet, but it gets better day by day.xxxx

I've still got my Simba on the mantle - just over 5 yrs he's been gone and he gets a 'morning big fella' every day

I keep saying I'm going to go and scatter him over his favourite walk but I just can't seem to bring myself do it. I quite like the thought that he's still watching over me and I swear in the house we lived in I could hear him flump down on the laminate every night for weeks.

Such a horrible place to be in isn't it I really feel for you and sending you lots of {{hugs}} and flobbery kisses

So sorry for your loss but glad that he is back home where he belongs.

One person on a rat forum puts the ashes in a pot and then plants a flower or tree in the pot. Every time the plant/tree flowers they remember their lost one and can take it with them where ever they go. I always thought that was a lovely idea.

It will get better bit by bit, but its a horrible feeling isn't it. But it will get easier over time. At least you found a bit of comfort today bringing his ashes home.
