Pigs?

Does anybody own pigs? I would like some advice please

When we move and hopefully have a bit of land I would LOVE to get some pigs and am already obsessing on google the different breed types etc.

How many would I need-minimum? Could I have just 2 or would they be happier together with 3 or 4 others?

How much room/land do they need?

Obviously, they are quite a big responsibility, ie: we can't just leave them and go on holiday or put them on kennels! But are they fairly easy, or would I be too inexperienced? Can you get them insured?

Pwease has anybody got any pictures I can swoon over?

My grandfather was a pig farmer, but unfortunately he died when my mum was only 12.

Also, how do dogs react to pigs? Mine are both great with horses, cows and other larger animals, terrible with sheep and anything smaller really. Where do pigs come into it?

Apparently, theres a lot of paper work that comes with keeping pigs? Not sure if it just a business keeping pigs though, was talking to my Auntie about pigs, as we work in a cafe that goes with a butterfly centre and animal paddock and were talking about animals we could get and she said they'd look into pigs, but the paperwork was out of this world!

MP is right. There is nothing easy or straightforward about keeping any kind of livestock these days
