Dress for a wedding

Im going to a wedding for the first time in alot of years at the end of july...I know it sounds a long way off but the way this year is flying by i thought i had better start thinking of what to wear!!!

Im thinking a dress, summery type, but has to be floor legth as i dislike my legs!! And not strapless, or halterneck (i have quite broad shoulders, and am also in the process of losing weight so def need to tone my arms!) so some kind of dress with a slight sleeve/shoulder would be great....

Could someone give me ideas (even if its not to my exacting requirements ) of dresses that would be suitable for a wedding.

Oh, and nice FLAT shoes/sandals (i do love my heels but cant wear them when i go out with bf as he is only slightly taller than me )

Thankyou!!

iv recently bought a dress for a nice meal im planning at the end of the month, took me a while to find something i liked that i could wear flat shoes with (i also have the problem of a boyfriend who is only 2 inches taller than me)

i found this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_5883wt_906

teaming it with white gladiator sandals

if your wanting to cover your arms, you could team it with a nice white jacket?

I don't 'do' dresses/skirts, so I'm going to suggest a trouser suit!
I bought a cream linen suit (lined) from Coast a few years back ,and it has done me proud for quite a few weddings and christenings! I'm going to Ascot this Saturday and will probably dust it off again! My sister is on the left and she is wearing a long skirt (also from Coast).
The jacket with my suit is fitted and has lovely sleeves (see pic) - EXCUSE THE STUPID FACES !

I don't even know who's kid that is, but he doesn't look happy!

Just an idea....

Tip

Avoid linen like the plague, unless you NEVER sit down.

A smart trouser suit with a long soft collarless jacket with no buttons or same with a dress or skirt, often you get matching jackets and tops that are loose and over the skirt/trousers which look smart and slimming.

If you have all one colour/print it can look more slimming tha solid blocks of colour etc.

Shoes, unless you have fabulous feet and faultless toenails/polish, never wear open toed sandals! In any case I am guessing as it is a formal occasion you would be wearing hose and nothing looks worse than open toed sandals with tights!

Just don`t try to upstage the bride. And don`t wear white for the same reason.
Keep it simple, and pretty - and comfortable. Then you can smirk at all the orange ladies in panto frocks.
