R.I.P the English language...

OK, anyone else sometimes find themselves shedding a tear while reading a thread? Not because of the content, but because of the lack of attempt at correct spelling etc. I know it's a bit pedantic, but personally, I find it far easier on the eye to read a thread where people have at least made an attempt to use the language properly. I know I try and sometimes fail, I'm sure!

OK, pet hate rant over. Anyone who feels the same, post here. If you think I'm an obsessive fool, along with anyone else who agrees, start your own thread. Suggested title 'Dem speling freeks!'

Annoys me too, but sometimes people can't help it - still frustrating though!

I don't like seeing text talk on a forum. I can't text in text talk, have to use proper words!

Rich a man after my own heart. I am definitely pedantic about spelling. Although I do make mistakes myself, although I tend to go back and rectify them when I see them.

Annestaff will tell you that Im always pulling her up on MSN when she spells something wrong in her haste to tell me something. I think she thinks Im just being nasty to her but I cant help myself.

Iv even been known to want to change other peoples thread titles because they arent spelt right!!!!

Yeahy! This is one of my pet hates too! It's so sad isn't it, but I even get mad at myself when I can't spell something right. I'll sit there for ages trying to work it out before going to the dictionary!

People do make mistakes, especially when you're typing fast but sometimes threads are just unreadable. And yes I'm one of those sad people that have to use full words and correct punctuation when sending a text!

I'm sure there must be a society for this sort of thing!

*Sits checking spelling*

Oh eck, now I am going to feel self conscious when writing cos I do not check my threads, just write em from my heart and am sure there will be loads of mistakes and especially grammatical errors, I hate getting texts from young uns though takes me ages to interpret them! I still use full words and so on and even then my Son says he dois not understand me!
