Daily Thread, Tuesday, April 26

Good morning everyone, looks a lot brighter out there this morning still very cold though.

Apart from giving Amber her monthly Advantage dosage I do not do anything else about ticks or fleas but because she has a smooth almost white coat anything out of place would soon show up.

LG, Fagin is a legend in his own time, what a very special dog.

Harvey it is nice to see the Police dogs doing their work, I too enjoy seeing them on the Police Interceptors programmes.

Griff, hope all is well with you and your Mum. Deags did well with her sit and stay.

Hope everyone is feeling fit and well today, take care all and have a good day, stay warm and dry and above all else safe and well. God bless.

Good morning Moyra and all who follow

Sorry about the mix up with days Moyra Hope you have a peaceful and restful day today.

Well done Deags.

Love Fagin and as long as he is good around you and your family Gordon that is all that matters the rest as you say you deal with.

I think a lot of dogs would defend their owners if the need arose. A friend had a couple of Dobes and they welcomed everyone into their world. One evening she was walking them on her local common and a man came up and started to act "strange". As it was getting dark all my friend saw was a flash of white (dogs teeth) as he flew past her growling and then proceeded to stand between them. Naturally the man ran but the dog did not give chase he stayed with her.

Lovely and sunny here but cold. Up early and thank goodness the workmen arrived at 7.15 am Furniture now on the patio to be put back inside tonight when they said they will have the shell up and cover the ref with a tarpaulin. Lets hope all goes to plan. Oh well must take Teazle out as she has a routine, breakfast, my breakfast then walk

Have a good day and stay safe.

Morning each and all to follow. June here is the latest one that I write for Lancing website and a couple of new pics of Tyto for you to see. Sun is shining yet again and I haven't put the heating on yet as the sun is quite warm. Have a good day all and keep warm. Just had a quiCk read through of yesterdays musings and I am with you on the fat pups LG That way they always have reserves to fall back on if poorly.

Lovely piccies of Tyto, Brenda, very handsome boy with a brain to match
I've seen some large breed puppies in a shocking state, but at the same time I've seen them far too overweight. Like you say Brenda, they need a good reserve of fat should they be poorly. Hoping I've got it right with Zen, the others have survived their puppyhood with me so far
Off on the bone run today, got a phone call yesterday teatime asking if I can come a little later on, so I took a deep breath and explained that I was in the mind to stop the weekly trip completely due to it being a waste of money. Pointed out that the big bag they had given me, tied at the top, had a massive hole in the side and only 13 bones left, and what that meant was I then had to buy in chicken drumsticks and also had been buying in pigs trotters and ears for a few weeks now. They said they were sure there would be more this week......mmmm.....we will see. Was chatting to a friend of mine who lives near the abbatoir and goes in every week and gets a massive bag of carcasses that she can barely carry for £5, and she said she'll get me some, I get on the tram to her end, she gives me the bag, I get back on the next tram home and in my car and home again. For what I'm spending on fuel a month I can easily go to Bury Market (free on the tram), pick carcasses up from her and buy in bones from my food man. I got 16 gigantic fish heads for 50p last time I was on Bury Market and I know the lady who has Kodiak gets all her stuff there, she sent me a piccie of him surrounding by all the goodies she has either got for free or for pennies. I now have a plan
Best of luck today, Sue. Its not raining here, quite bright with a blue sky and fluffy white clouds, wind is cold though. Hoping it stays dry for you with the conservatory coming down.

June you will have to invest in another freezer at this rate. Might save you money in the long run. Off for a late coffee now as got way laid when out walking Tyto chatting and socialising. Have a good day all. Tablet still hit and miss. So thinking of getting another one before holiday as it has wifii down there for free.

I've got an under counter freezer in the utility that is presently empty, my tall freezer has everything in for the girls, and then the American fridge/freezer in the kitchen has all my stuff in, so plenty of freezer space available, just not enough to put in them.Usually both dog freezers are full or waiting to be replenished, not the case at present, nor has it been for the last few months really, its got to change, I'm spending money I haven't really got on lpg and petrol to go and get stuff that isn't there, not going to continue.

Perhaps June now you have told them things will go back as they were with getting a good supply of bones. You seem to be lining up some alternatives though so good luck with whatever you decide upon.

Morning all
i was supposed to be up at 6 again...got up at 9.30! i am having real trouble sleeping and when i do drop off i am awake again wide awake and boiling hot... will tell the consultant on thursday. Never mind, it is just a blood test today and i can go at any time, i do however have a delivery coming and would prefer that to be here before i go but will give it another couple of hours and head off.
Sue, i hope the weather stays dry and your conservatory peeps get it done quickly.
TW, really hope today that the bones are in plentiful supply but at least you have a plan of action if needs be
Brenda, i got the fire tablet for £50...it does a pretty decent job and was very good value for money
Moyra, hope you have your battery on charge ready for tomorrow
