Chip scanner

I've just ordered myself a scanner. One of those moments click buy it now !
Now I'm sat here thinking about it.
So I scan lost dog and get the number .. What do I do with it then? Who do I give the number to?

I think perhaps there is some kind of national database, your vet would know. I would give them the number or the local dog warden.

It might be worth phoning petlog to confirm this but I think it is as follows:

Find dog, scan, phone pet log and give them your details because if you don't have a pin number then they will not give you owners details.

Wait for owner to contact you or you hand dog over to dog warden?

If injured then take to vet

There are 3 main Microchip database companies and they all only give the details out to those that they consider "suitable" to have the information. This goes hand in hand with data protection policy.

I can't help wonder why you want one ande when you'd use it?
