Jackie

Just a thought, how long have you been in the new home for ??
And have you unpacked everything ??

I shifted about 5 years ago when I was on my own.
I was in my new home and 12 months later, I was unhappy, because it felt like a house and not a home. Once I bought some furniture, and put some nik nax around it slowly turned into a house. Funny thing my new house is twice the size of my old one, and the backyard 3 times the size as my old one, but I still missed my old one, because it was my home not a house.
Now I am as happy as a pig in Mud...

I am sure you will get used to it. Chin up Jack..You will be fine.

Ashley...

I wanna move back down to be by my mum but kids r settled in school an everything so every couple of weeks I go down there or my mum & dad come up here. When the kids go down my mum & dad's I normally stay for a few days.

Can't u come to some sort of arrangement for friends to come & visit every couple of weeks or once a month?

Maybe they can help u get through all your sewing and decorating An excuse for a party.

Ah Jackie life is constantly changing and each new thing that happens to us takes a lot of getting used to My son recently left home for the last time leaving me alone and I cried for three weeks I love him so much, we have been through such a lot together but I knew the 'letting him go' thing would come one day. I tried to focus on the positive aspect..I had done my best as a single parent and worked hard to put him through uni and to see him settled in a good job... this was the pay off I had to accept with grace. You will I am sure build a life in your new home..after a time it won't be new anymore and the old one will fade in your memory as new memories are formed in your present house Try to focus on the good aspects of your new house and with all your many interests and time will pass and things will improve

Jackie *hugs*

I'm guessing you haven't moved house b4 this in quite a while? You are quite right in not feeling 'at home' so soon, this afterall shows how much you loved your old house - this is a good thing cos it means you'll have the good memories and shows you have the capacity to love this house even more

*Hugs* to you Jackie.

Once you get everything sorted out you'll feel better.
