Importing dog from the UK to Aust

was just having a look to see the cost of a dog stay in quantine and a dog from the UK, and the stay is 4 weeks and the cost is about $250pw

thats intresting, why do they need quarantine?

just looked at costs,,,my god its not cheap,,,

think the permit from the aus gov is almost $600 before you do all the blood tests, other stuff, then quarantine, its a bloody nightmare, x

All dogs going to Australia have to endure 30 day quarantine regardless of the pet passport unfortunately.

Are you thinking of getting a dog from here China ?

I always understood it was because Australia is like UK and doesn't have rabies (Am I right about that TT )

Now the UK is all part of the great Euro familly (Pause while we all have a good laugh ) quarantine isn't necessary, but I also thought that it was still imposed when animalls come from anywhere outside the Eurozone.

I thought that rabies could take a lot longer to show than 4 weeks

Maybe they have developed better and quicker ways of detecting it now.

It,s not only that its because we are Island and are free of nearly everything that they are so hard but as we have seen in the recent pass, accidents happen and something gets out. Like EI and look at the affects it had here
