Introducing a puppy to my dog

Hi, We are picking our puppy up at the end of february. What is the best way of introducing the pup to my dog? Thank you in advance.

I assume your older dog is good with other dogs, so it won't really matter how to introduce them TBH. When I introduced my last two pups to my older dog, I just plonked them down in the living room and let my older dog have a sniff. He sniffed and then went back to bed, and that was that!

I would probably take them somewhere neutral tbh, like the previous poster says it depends how your other dog is with dogs.
Try maybe a field or a park just to test the water with them and see how it goes from there.

Good luck

Lou

You couldn't put the pup down on the floor though.

That is probably the best way of introducing two adult dogs though.

This was Skye's 1st meeting with Bertie the day I brought her home, I just took them out to the stables in the back garden and let Skye meet Bertie 1st as I know he loves puppies, then I let her meet Boomer and Teagan, Boomer told her her place, but nothing serious and I think she needed telling as she was the boss in her litter and Teagan was really good (I wasn't sure how she's take a new addition). Skye is now 4 years old and is well socialised and a lovely little girl.
