Nope. Not argue, just point out the other side of it.
If this was the equivalent of a dog sport, where this number of dogs were injured and die, people on here would be outraged if people posted about betting on it.
Nor do I see the point in there being an 'anti' or 'for' thread...the title was 'The Grand National'

I dont read the links Ailsa, Im not interested in supporting activist websites.

Likewise its a shame people who moan about this only moan once a year, drives me NUTS!! Anyone would think Horses raced one day a year and not at any other time.

Of course, we could all pretend animals don't suffer in horse racing...and then we could enjoy betting on the race more... Close our eyes and stick our fingers in our ears and pretend all the horses finish the race in tip top condition and go off to pasture to live out their lives in the sunshine.
Or...we could be aware that things need to change:

National.....My choices are, Oscar Time, In Compliance, Can't buy Time.....chosen for the names........... much to my Dad/OH/brothers disgust.....they actually look at form I choose names and (often win and a place)

Oh may make a flutter on Royal Rosa?
