Try adding a desertspoonful of protein powder once a day to his meal.

Protein powder builds muscle without fat

Ozzie is far from silly ..lol.he worked out with in seconds that he could stand on the edge of the tank to avoid walking on the treadmill...
He was nervous but for a first time with water he was good ...well done boy...

When Ozzy was in recovery after his cruciate op (once he could bear weight on it) - he had muscle wastage and needed built-up.

Aside from hydrotherapy, our vet recommended up-hill lead walks (small to begin with and building up the distance and time out) and also said to go to the beach and walk him across the cobbles. The irregular surface would make him use the weaker leg as it throws them off-balance slightly?

Hope you get to use the hydro-pool next time, what a shame

That's interesting as when I had an op to repair my cruciate ligaments after a skiing accident, I had months of physio both before & after the op. The physio made me stand on a board that was fixed halfway round a giant rubber ball so that I had to continually re-balance to stay upright ~ it was supposedly to strengthen all the little mucsles around the knee joint. So I expect walking on a pebbly beach has a similar effect.
