What sort of dancing takes place at a "ball"?

The title says it all!

We're taking part in a car rally that ends with a ball and "dancing" what sort of dancing generally takes place at a ball?

Will we be expected to know standard dances or can we get by just bopping along??? the band is called the Allstars anyone heard of them?

Thanks
S

All sorts of dancing takes place at a ball..it's usually a mixture of old and new .

They are sometimes 'themed' and this can influence the type of dancing.
Have a lovely time..
