ash my hubby used to work on a chicken farm when he was younger and he said the they only injected them with antibiotic to stop them getting infections
because they were so close to other chickens
i don,t know if they inject them with anything else these days

but i can,t see the poor things killed
they can live quite happy in my back garden and any eggs they produce will go towards the birds feed
(we feed our birds scrambled egg every day )

Thats wonderful news Jackie. Have you decided all their names yet?

Have homes been found for them all the others yet do you know?

Wonder where you got those names from Great though

7000 OMG that is just so many. The poor little darlings. I'll make a few enquiries up here, but can't promise anything as I think the distance will be a prob for many
There's also a lady down south somewhere that has a 'chicken sanctuary', but even so I think she's pushed to her limits now.
Kev at North Lakes branch may be willing to take a few on, but I'll have to check.
I can't take any I'm affraid. I've already had a visit from the council thanks to my neighbours, so I could face losing my dogs as it is
