I have no wish to pour scorn on the ideals of councils recycling but the old site did recycle stuff and it did help me and it never caused any harm to anyone.

But now any battery is treated like an atomic bomb because it contains acid and must not be handled by the public 'cos they may spill it on themselves and sue the council grrrrrrrrrrrrr Don't they know that every car contains such a battery and people change them on their driveways millions of times per year grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
