We're getting there, he's putting a new trap and pipe on now. Back from the tip after taking all the rubbish, boxes etc. plus bin bags of shavings from the girls and ash from the fire, also bin bag of other rubbish that I picked up on my search through the house.

Way to go June - ten thousand years from now they will unearth all those bits and pieces that you've consigned to landfill and wonder what the blerdy hell was going on in Boltoneum all those years ago. Really glad you're getting there at last, never know one day soon you may be able to put your feet up for a bit.
Griff - Sorry had to laugh at you dsmembering your poor old lawn. The aerator is really best used after a dry spell so that just the earth plugs come up and can be easily swept together for composting. Don't worry about the dogs toes - very, very unlikely that they could damage themselves. If you don't want to use an aerator a plain garden fork can work nearly as well if you dig it in to about half it's length and wiggle it a bit so that you get a 1cm hole left behind.

Its all finished and he's done an amazing job when you consider it was a search down the back of the sofa for coins type of job. Really happy, and he's been so lovely and helpful, will be giving him great feedback.

I need to get myself back on my feet now and sort things out, I hate having to live more or less hand to mouth because of what other people have done. Just glad there are some lovely people both on here and elsewhere that have given me a reason to keep going.
