got to take dex back to the vet tomorrow night, see if the steak has sorted his anaemia out...fingers crossed it has, he seems happy enough

Must admit that I grew some broad beans a few years ago, what a useless blerdy vegetable. Had seen a TV Chef saying that you should blanch them and then take the skins off the actual bean. Grew 'em. Shelled 'em. Blanched 'em, Skinned 'em, Cooked 'em, Tasted 'em, Threw 'em to the hens. Ghastly they were and that after having messed about with the damn things for about 8months. Served me right - should have bought a tin to see if I liked 'em.

No - Do cook things myself on occasion, rather pride myself on my abilities in and around a kitchen. Besides we have a Cook for that sort of thing the Maids functions are entirely different, they come under the jurisdiction of our Housekeeper.

Eileen - By7 Heinz beans, do you mean the Haricot beans that they sell prepared in a tomato sauce? Because they sell a tinned Kidney bean as well.
