Born Edinburgh in nineteen-canteen, parents from Orkney (via Aberdeen), used to live in Elgin (near Inverness). Educated (?) at an Edinburgh "public school" - which may be causing confusion - spent the rest of my life well North of the "Highland Line".
Nevertheless, most of my academic qualifications are in English, so I have bits of paper which prove that I know what "dinner" is!

No this one has lasted since Laura was 18 months old - it was quite an expensive one at the time so it has been quite a good carpet and still hasn't worn out but its getting thinner now.
