I have not come across this before.

Does anyone have any info or seen it before?

There is some information in the breed related site I belong too.

Apparently the dog affected is on prednisilone and some other drug for fever cannot remember the name and liver functons are low also producing yellow acid bile.

Not sure it is common and sounds nasty.

Someone in one of my classes - she has just called me to say her 8 month old pup is going in for tests for it on Monday.

It does not sound a good prognosis if this is the problem.

Just read a bit more on this and someone else replied that their dog also had this desease and this was the way they went forward with it not sure if this will be any help if your friends pup is diagnosed with this disease.

It seems it can or is a tick borne disease. Her dog was on Prednisilone to get it under control and weaned off slowly over the the course of a year. Was supplemented with SAM-e milk thistle for liver support and melatonin.

It may help your friend to go armed with some information.
