need help figuring out red bumps on my dog

Hi. Im new here. I have a 2.5 year old mixed breed dog who I adopted 2 years ago.

My question is:
I took my dog to the vet in January and questioned her about my dog's red patch on her stomach - close to her tail. The vet said it was where wetness gets caught between her skin and causes a rash (hotspot??).
I bought sulfudone - which worked within a few days so I stopped using it. A few weeks later I noticed hte redness was coming back - I checked again last night and my dog has several red bumps with tiny black heads... I have no clue what this is. She doesnt seem bothered by it at all - but its really gross. I applied more sulfodine to see if that helps.

Any ideas what it is???
thanks a lot

well ive been feeding her natural choice for 2 years. However, as of yesterday I started feeding her California Natural - at my vets recommendation. (i am slowly mixing the 2 foods together)

She has had this rash for at least 6 months - but because it never seemed to bother her - i didnt take her to the vet until her yearly exam. NOW though its bad - I think once she may have had small bumps that went away - but never these black things. It scared me - i hope its not fleas!!

If you suspect fleas, get a white towel or cloth wet it and rub it deep into your dogs coat. If she has fleas the flea dirt will dissolve and smear red dots onto the cloth.....

thanks so much for the help btw!!

It's Definitely not a Hot spot. If it were, you'd be treating an open wound for weeks !

Not sure what it could be, as fleas etc have been ruled out, but does she chew herself in that area at all ?

yeah i dont think the vet called it a hot spot - but the sulfudone did really help.... thats why i wasnt sure if i should use it again now.

Diamond doesnt touch the area at all - I wouldnt even have noticed it if it werent for it being very obvious when she rolls on her back.

it could easily be an allergic reaction - i know one of mine gets it when running through long grass at certain times of the year.

Sudocrem will help but if it persists it's worth getting the vet to check it out.

Milly gets lumps all over her belly with black dots in the middle. She also bites her skin and paws and gets bad ear infections. Consequently she has been for allergy tests at the vet hospital and we have discovered she is allergic to a wide variety of foods and enviromental problems i.e. pollen from trees, weeds, grass etc.

Our specialist said that the spots on her stomach were a result of the allergies which had caused a bacterial and yeast infection. She has been on antibiotics and ear drops, together with fungal shampoos and now we have changed her food she is soooo much better. good luck in finding out what the cause is.

Ali and Milly x
