Itchy bum?

hi just a quick question, my dog has been scooting a bit latley, I took her to the vets to check her anal glad last tuesday, he said they were ok she has been wormed right on time evertime she has been due but she still sometimes drags her bum, do dogs sometimes just get an itchy bum? thanks in advance Lyndsey

IMO, no, not really.

Might be worth getting your vet to have another look.

they are the main things to check for which you have had done. I think dogs can get a itchy bum like us humans do, so they need to have a scratch I know i couldn't leave it if mine was itchy

My staffy sometimes rubs her 'bits' on the floor, but it's more like her other parts she's scratching then her bum (if you know what I mean).

a dog can develop an ich. If the glads, flea and worming are all ok i would say she is just itchy, and nothing to worry about. Although have you changed anything such as food, washing powder or floor cleaner/freshener, may be an allergic reaction??

It could be that her anal glands need squeezing

Sorry!!! Should have read properly and would have seen she's had her glands looked at!!

Can't read or spell properly tonight - my only excuse is I've been to the in-laws for dinner and been plied with lots of wine!!

One of ours used to get anal gland problems until we started to give her raw chicken wings on a daily basis.
