Second dog, golden retriever

We're looking for a golden retriever as a second dog, preferably young as our other dog is young so it would not be fair for us to take an elderly dog as it would be constantly fussed around. Following on from this, the dog must obviously be ok with other dogs, especially playful ones as ours is boisterous. We lost our goldie a year ago and its left a definite hole in our lives. We're back on the waiting list for one in the North but unfortunately no luck as of yet. We're in York but we'd be willing to travel a reasonable distance for the right dog. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried contacting Irish Retriever Rescue. They have a website with details of their dogs and adoption procedures.

We are situated in York, North Yorkshire so there is no way to transport a retriever from there to here.

It is a british charity which aims to find homes for all unwanted goldies. They have fosterers all over England. I seem to remember there is person near Hull that fosters.
