Zena just had her once over at the vets

... and all is well

We had to sit in the waiting room for half an hour with a snarling snaffie, but Zena didn't bark once, she didn't shake, she even laid down at my feet at one point The receptionist came over, gave her a treat and a stroke, and she wagged her tail! So after all my worries that after Monday's op, let alone that heart specialist trauma, she wouldn't go near the place, I cannot believe what I saw tonight, and I'm oh so happy!

We went into the surgery, she followed me wagging her tail, and I told the lady vet that I would muzzle her once she'd said her hello, so she gave her a treat, Zena went over to HER and sat down and took it with her tail wagging! Awwwww, I couldn't believe it. I then gave her a treat and slipped my new little soft muzzle on her that I had bought, and instead of that horrible cage thing, she didn't get in a panic, she actually went more submissive, she laid down for me, which pleased the vet no-end coz of course, she wanted to look at her wound on her belly, and when I said that she'd do a roll over for her, she couldn't believe it, but she did!!!!!!! Awwwww, bless her little heart, she is a true and utter star my little girlie, she let the nice vet lady poke around on her scar and sore bits, she didn't move an inch, she wasn't nervous or growling either, and when I gave her the ok and took her muzzle off, I handed the vet another treat and asked her to give it to her, and she sat and took it and got a pat!!!! How good is that then!!! Even old Dave was well impressed tonight!

The good news is, it's healing so very well, I can actually put her in the car tomorrow, but keep her onlead until Monday and then let her off, coz she doesn't go mad, she likes to hang around with me, and she'll only run if I throw her ball, so I just won't throw the ball!

I'm in heaven now, can yer tell!!!!

Thanks Claire It could be that I was soooooo relaxed tonight even when I copped sight of that snarling staffie as we walked in there and had to walk past it whereas Monday of course, I was a quiverring wreck wasn't I and they must pick up on these things. The mere fact that she didn't bark ONCE at anybody, not even the men in there, let alone how brilliant she was with the vet herself, it just couldn't have gone better, especially when she actually did her roll over for me, the vet was well impressed with that one!!!! Oh bless her little heart, she is a true and utter star, and I've already told my breeder that they just don't make them like her very often either!!!

As we were leaving I did explain to the vet about that horrible heart specialist man and she said these dogs do sometimes take a dislike to some men, she's noticed that with most of them that come in, so it's not that unusual for Zena not to like the male vets, so in future, unless it's an emergency, I'm going to be asking for a female vet and we should be fine once again. Awww, she even laid down at my feet like she always did before at the vet too, I just can't believe it, how she's got over it so very quickly especially after Monday!! xxxxx

Glad everything went well at her checkup, what a little star she is
Although I have a sneeky suspicion she was on her best behaviour because her daddy was there
