These programmes are terrible.....they put down dogs that have been injured in accidents at the scene of the accident if they dont wear tags! or are chipped...

If a dog show the slighted bit of aggresion to other dogs it is put down! it is just rubbish! not all dogs get on with other dogs!

Just as I dont get on with all other "people"

I watch them ...did you see the one where they rescue a large dog when its chain had grown into its neck...got it better then had it PTS because it suffered food aggression! What do they expect when the poor thing had been chained outside and thrown just enough food to keep it alive! No thought about trying to retrain etc ....and he was soooo soft at any other time

Yes thats when I stopped tuning in - that poor dog had been starved and still looked a bit thin bloomin heck I'd bite a hand trying to take my food away if I had been treated like that too !

I thought it was totally out of order...we all know food aggression can be dealt with and if not with a dog that was so good natures otherwise why not rehome to someone with no kids and dogs etc with instruction that dog is to be fed away from any contact! I could have cried....poor dog

yeh its so stupid that they dont look at all possibilities. Makes me wonder if say any of our dogs were found, would they be pts cos of minor problems that can be dealt with?

grrrr.

they dont seem to think of possibilities of retraining, or rehoming with a home without kids or dogs. There was one a few weeks ago where a bunch of pitbulls were found. All of em were pts straight away cept for 2. They were doin a temprement test, one passed, but the other was pts because it showed a very slight sign of agression, but i dont think it was towards people at all. she was only 5 months old i think.

They remind me very much of the RSPCA.

i dont agree with the fact that they put the dogs down when they do the food test especially as they use that awful stick with the stuffed rubber glove on! i appreciate them not wanting to test with their own hands but i am sure a lot of dogs would be quite perturbed at the the sight of that heading at them. i always think that should just be a sign of dont home to a family with kids or an unexperienced dog owner but surely not pts! a;though i still think they are better than rspca cos they do a lot for the animals and go to great lengths to rescue them
