Cat combs?

Can anyone with a long haired cat recommend a good comb?

I'm currently using a metal comb which has wide spaced teeth on one side and closer spaced on the other. It does the job, but I'm always worried I'm going to hurt him, especially when going over bony areas.

Mine all love their zoom groom . It has rubber nodules so is very gentle.

That looks good, but do you think it would be ok on very long fur?

My cats are long haired and I use a fine tooth comb followed by a brush 2 or 3 times a week

Sorry, no idea about on long haired cats, mine have short hair, but if they're not matted at all I'm sure it would be absolutely fine?

Yes its good you just need to be a little bit firmer when massaging into the coat, then use a sweeping motion down the line of the coat. One of our cats goes into a dreamlike state (as does one of the dogs) when I use it.

If it's knots have you tried a slicker brush, they cannot be used on the skin with pressure but they're good for dogs.

I think a plastic human comb will cause less damage to her fur and the plastic ones will bend around more stubborn knots

Ooh, sounds good!

No knots Holly, but I don't want him to get any either
