Head shape ...

I was playing around with 2 Bracco Italiano's and wondered why their head has such a unique shape ..
Its not a cosmetic thing is it ???

I don't think of Bracco's as having a unique head shape? unless I'm looking at them the wrong way...

I can think of breeds that are a lot more extreme...Bulldogs, Neapolitan Mastiffs, Pugs.
