When I say I am shvitzing it means it is so hot that perspiration is spewing from every pore! It is a Yiddish word and a shvitzer is literally someone with over-active sweat glands.

Ah, now the Nechda and Nechda sheli. Somehow I appear to have adopted Helena [or she adopted me] although I have no idea when or how or even why! Nechda is the Ivrit [Modern Hebrew] word for grand-daughter - Neched being the word for grandson. The ch is pronounced as in the Scottish Loch, and sheli means belonging to me, ie of mine. In Ivrit we do not say "my whatever", it is "whatever of mine". "Shel li"- belonging [to] me, used as one word "sheli".
